Classroom Information
Snack - Each Day we allow students time to eat a snack at school. Please send a healthy snack with your child to school each day. Some snack ideas include granola bars, fruits, vegetables, cheese, crackers, and pretzels. Please do not send candy, chocolate, cupcakes, or other things of this nature. This type of snack will be sent home. Make sure that your child's snack is labeled in some way with her/her name to avoid any mix-ups at snack time.
Attendance - If your child is going to be absent, make sure to call and let the attendance office know. If you do not call to report your child's absence, the office is required to contact you. You can reach the attendance office at (847) 249-7165.
Communication - Please make sure to check and empty your child's folder daily. Often, important notes, dates, and information will be sent home in folders. Spiral notebooks are also able to be used as a way to communicate notes daily. I also use the app "Remind" as a way to send quick and easy notes and messages directly through smartphones. I check my email, and Remind app multiple times a day.
Birthdays - Due to the risks of food allergies and intolerances, birthday snacks are no longer allowed at school as a way to celebrate birthdays. If you or your child would like to celebrate with the class, goodie bags and little gifts are welcome! Some ideas of things that can be sent home include stickers, pencils, magnets, little toys, etc.
Clothing - Please make sure that your child's extra clothing are labeled with a permanent marker. Your child's name may be written on tags, on the bottom or inside shoes, etc. This will help me to keep track of what belongs to who in the classroom. This is also the case for winter apparel as the weather changes. Make sure everything is labeled. Thank you!
